"In 2011, thousands of concerned citizens in over 80 communities across the nation will walk together to raise money and awareness about our country's need for a world-class treatment and recovery system for people with mental illness (from the NAMI Walks web page)." NAMI Walks is the signature annual event of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

NAMI Walk Michigan is coming up soon. Michigan walkers will pull on their sneakers and join with hundreds of friends, advocates and supporters at the Orchard Ridge Campus of Oakland Community College on September 24th at 10 am. Pre-registration is not required, but is recommended, in order to make Walk Day less stressful and more enjoyable for all who participate.

If you would like to sign-up to walk, to form or join a walking team click here.
